The award is intended to enable a select circle of scientists to conduct further medical research and implement their findings in clinical practice.
The Fritz Acker Foundation aims to promote medical research for the benefit of society as a whole by granting awards in the form of financial support to persons who have made a special contribution to medical research, in particular in the field of cancer and heart disease.
